Regal Entertainment Group is a major cinema chain. Founded in 1989 as Regal Cinemas, within years they would become the owners of Edwards Theaters and United Artists Theaters. Regal, and rival AMC Theatres, were owners of the joint venture Open Road Films from its founding in 2011, up to 2017. Since December 2017, Regal is currently owned by London-based Cineworld Group, after they purchased Regal for $3.6 billion. This created the world's second largest cinema group. | |||
