Disney's FastPlay: Difference between revisions

'''Disney's FastPlay''' is a special feature used on Disney DVDs, introduced in the late summer of 2004. The system purports to play the upcoming film and certain bonus features automatically, without needing to use a remote. Infamously, FastPlay will also play all of the trailers and previews featured on the DVD, meaning it can take up to 8-12 minutes for the film to actually start. Coinciding with the COVID-19 pandemic, the feature began to be phased out after ''Frozen II''; before finally being retired for good in early August 2021.

*Debuted on ''Mickey, Donald and Goofy: The Three Musketeers''. This can be seen on [[Walt Disney Animation Studios]] releases from ''Chicken Little'' to ''Raya and the Last Dragon'', as well as ''G-Force'', both ''Planes'' movies, and most Disney Channel original movies.

*This also appears on Pixar releases starting with ''Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales'' (with the exceptions of ''Toy Story 3'', which did have previews but instead jumps to the main menu, and ''Onward'', which did not have previews at all) up to ''Luca''.  

*Notably, the only three instances where it actually did what it advertised were the 2009 Big Wave Edition DVD of ''Lilo & Stitch'', ''Incredibles 2'', and ''Zombies 2'' (due to those releases not having previews before the film or at all). It was long rumored that ''Incredibles 2'' had previews at the end.

*The logo was last seen on the 2021 DVDs of both ''Soul'' and ''Luca'', despite only having one preview before the films, and no bonus features at all after them. The former having no previews like ''Onward'', and the latter having a second trailer (''Turning Red'') before the film and deleted scenes, the film's trailer, and a mini-movie after the film, both would have been better ideas.
