There is a debate that this logo was originally expected to be for the 1986 BBC logo due to the colors being prominent with it, but was changed at the last minute. Unfortunately, the BBC stopped making a use of this logo back in 2009, which is saddening given that this logo was a favorite of many people in UK. However, hopefully though, the BBC will do a remake of this on-screen logo for the 2021 BBC logo, because it will pretty much pay tribute to this logo over here.
