Debmar Studios was formed in November 1, 1993 by Mort Marcus, a former senior syndication sales executive for [[Buena Vista Television]] (now "[[Disney-ABC Home Entertainment and Television Distribution]]"), with financial backing by Disney. Marcus became president of Buena Vista Television a year later, causing Debmar to be folded into Buena Vista. In 2003, Mort Marcus reopened Debmar Studios after his departure from Disney. In 2006, this company merged with Mercury Entertainment to form "Debmar-Mercury".
