===Background===
Disney Channel Originals is the production arm of pay television channel Disney Channel. The production arm serves as the flagship of Disney Branded Television (which owns Disney Channel, the latter being owned by the Walt Disney Company). The arm produces cartoons, live-action children's and adolescent sitcoms on Disney Channel.
In the mid-2000s, the production arm gained a controversial reputation and became very notorious for its sitcoms, as well as Disney Channel's handling of non-sitcom series (most of which were cartoons produced by [[Walt Disney Animation Studios]]).
