In 1997, Fennada-Filmi's name was brought back to Finnish cinema by director Markku Pölönen when setting up his film production company. This was possible when the brand of the original movie company was possible to obtained for purchase at the time. By reusing the same company name, Pölönen wanted to respect the tradition of old Finnish cinema, the company of the same name and its long-term director and commercial adviser Mauno Mäkelä. After couple of films, Fennada-Filmi was eventually shut down and replaced by newly founded [[Suomen Filmiteollisuus]], when Markku Pölönen and his wife Satu Sadinkangas managed to gain rights of the film company in 2001. | |||
