Bob and Harvey Weinstein founded '''Dimension Films''' in 1991 as a genre film division of [[Miramax Films]]; it later became a part of [[The Weinstein Company]] after they left. In 2018, the company alongside TWC was purchased in a bankruptcy auction by [[Lantern Entertainment]]. Today, Dimension operates as an in-name-only unit to hold the copyright on its library, and its pre-October 2005 films (except ''Mr. 3000'', which is still owned by [[Walt Disney Pictures|Disney]] due to it also being co-produced, and distributed by [[Touchstone Pictures]]) are owned by [[Paramount Pictures]] through [[Paramount Global]]'s stake in Miramax.
