* Dated in 1983, two caretakers with children are walking on a street with the children looking towards the camera. The logo with a slightly altered font is placed on the bottom center of the photo.

* Dated in March 25, 1984, we have a shot of a {{Font color|gold|golden}} hanging bowl in front of a painting. The logo is placed on the bottom left corner of the picture.

* The known prototype variant of the channel ident features a fully black background and the corners of the plates shining brighter than in the main variant.

* Circa 1987, the promotional transition variant has the plates gathering together to form the channel logo on a fully black background. The logo then moves to the top right corner and the promo of the program fades in with the logo being visible on the corner.

* As the full logo is formed with "{{Font color|navy|'''Y L E'''}}" fading in below, the "Rings" logo cross-fades to the 1987-1992 logo with a lighter tone. This startup variant could be spotted in 1992.

* After the regular ident is completed, it fades out and a new channel logo designed by Liisa Kallio fades in on the screen. The logo has the appearance of a basic {{Font color|red|red}} square with a stylized thick number "'''1'''" on the right side and "'''T V 1'''" written below the logo. This one was featured between 1993 and early 1998.

* At the start of the 1993 European Figure Skating Championships program, the logo was made without any kind of distortion, revealing that the cube has a strange moving texture on the entire translucent area of the cube, and that the edges of the cube and logos shine as well. The background shows a cloud-like wall, mostly darkened out with black and the reflections of the cube on the wall. The text "YLE" is on the bottom left side, and "TV1" in {{Font color|gray|gray}} lettering is on the bottom right. The logo eventually fades out to leave the cloud background.  

* The closing logo has the logo with solid white fillings situated on the bottom of the screen, with the background being a concrete wall with a small spotlight shining on it (whose position seems to shift). Below the cube is a multicolored gradient line spanning the entire screen, as well as the program name (or none) and "YLE-(year)" or "YLE TV1-(year)" below that. Originally in 1993, the cube rotates around to a specific colored side depending on the program. There were five color variations for the cube sides used: {{Font color|blue|blue}} (news and current affairs programs), {{Font color|green|green}} (documents), {{Font color|#FFD900|yellow}} (educational programs), {{Font color|darkorange|dark orange}} (children's and youth programs) and {{Font color|mediumvioletred|violet}} (fiction-based programs). Since 1994, all closing logo variations ended with the {{Font color|red|red}} logo on the front side of the cube.

*The early closing logo from 1998 had the base logo and background already blurred before the "TV1 YLE (year)" fades in besides the logo. The logo eventually clears up, and the background fades to white.

*A later closing variant used since 1999 had a waving {{Font color|red|red}} background where the transparent logo plays out before fading away. Below, a faded white bar with the YLE TV1 logo at the end of it and the text "(YLE - )TV1" fades in near the bottom of the screen. This would be used until 2007, the official end date of this logo.

* A woman dressed in overalls is climbing down a ladder as the elevator door is closing down. She then presses the top button and the mirror reflection shows {{Font color|red|red}} wallpapers rolling down to the woman's surprise. As the elevator is going up, she turns around in front of the camera to give a smile.

* Another one features a young boy with a balloon and a birthday present, pressing the top elevator button. As the elevator moves up, the balloon on the kid's hand starts rising up, lifting the boy with it. On the close-up shot, we see the boy looking towards the camera with a smile on his face.

* As the half-cropped swan fades in, it starts rotating at one place, leaving trails behind it. When "|'''YLE'''| TV1" fades in with a brief bright aura below the spinning swan, it stops rotating.

* We see the half-cropped swan appearing and rotating at one place with silhouettes of butterflies in different sizes flying around on the background. The spinning makes some of the butterflies spin around in mid-air. When the text appears and the half-cropped swan stops rotating, the butterfly silhouettes move down and off-screen.

* The startup variant has a bright and cloudy sky background, where we see the half-cropped swan zooming out to the center of the screen and rotating, leaving after images. As the swan is about to stop its rotation, the word "Huomenta!" ("Good morning!") is seen wiping in below and then slowly fading out. "|'''YLE'''| TV1" then appears afterwards and we see a brief bright glow on the half-cropped swan.

* On the closedown variant, a {{Font color|#FFD900|bright yellow}} background transitions into a {{Font color|darkcyan|dark cyan}} one, while we see the words "Hyvää yötä!" on the screen before fading out and the rotating, half-cropped swan zooming out into the center of the screen. The swan stops between two forming forest islands with a water mirroring effect, while "|'''YLE'''| TV1" appears below with a bright flash.

* We have a blurry extreme close-up shot, featuring a line of {{Font color|blue|blue}} swans curving with the head part pointing upwards, while the logo appears by being placed on the screen like a stamp.

* On a bright white background, we see a line of {{Font color|blue|blue}} swans moving in an oblique direction, as the camera scrolls up past them. We can closely see that the swans have sort of fingerprint-like texture around them. The camera then rolls around once, as the background color briefly changes into {{Font color|#FFD900|yellow}} and the logo wipes in on the screen.

* Early on December 2012, one of the variants has a completely white textured background with three inclined, half-cropped swans in a row on a soft floor with bright shadows reflected on them. Small snow-like dots can also be spotted, as the camera rotates around the structure.

* Usually when the regular variants are used during the winter time, snowflakes can be spotted with larger and sparkling ones seen from the reflection of the {{Font color|blue|blue}} half-cropped swans or the floor itself.

* The closedown ident is closely the same as the startup one, except the background is changed to one with a night sky and shadowy silhouettes of bushes and threes at a far distance.

* Numerous variants are featured during the announcement of the next program, many of which have a different type of background fitting for the time period, usually being a Finnish nature or city landscape. The logo animation plays the same as in the startup/closedown variants.
